Loutje Hoekstra is an Amsterdam-based autodidact artist born in 1994 with a background in biology. Her practice unfolds through painting, performance, and illustration, and she makes quick sketches informed by her biology studies. Painting, for Hoekstra, is a performative act that engages the whole body. Her solo exhibition "Body of Work" is curated by Madart at NIO House in Amsterdam, and her work has been exhibited at a gallery in Lisbon, Portugal. The atelier is open for studio visits by request.
