Flesh Goredon shares a name with the 1974 American science fiction sex comedy film Flesh Gordon, a spoof of Universal Pictures' Flash Gordon serial films. The film follows football player Flesh Gordon as he attempts to save Earth from Emperor Wang, leader of the planet Porno, who sends a sex ray toward the planet. A sequel, Flesh Gordon Meets the Cosmic Cheerleaders, features super-endowed superhero Flesh Gordon whisked away by three cheerleaders from a distant galaxy.
