Esther McVey is the Member of Parliament for Tatton and the founder of the organization 'If Chloe Can'. She served as Work and Pensions Secretary and, as Work and Pensions Minister, faced criticism from the mental health charity Mind for including it among charities said to support Universal Credit reforms. She ran for the Conservative party leadership in 2019, setting out a manifesto that included the position that 'parents know best' on LGBT-inclusive education. She co-hosts a show on GB News that was among four programs examined in Ofcom investigations opened in August 2023. In August 2024, she used a poem about the Holocaust to denounce Keir Starmer's plans to ban smoking in pub beer gardens.
